Re: Delta8 Coming Soon To Aus 5Mar 06, 2009 7:45 pm So you are saying go cat6 for new networks?
i thought it wasn't as tough as cat5e. not so good for tough/sharp bends etc. Re: Delta8 Coming Soon To Aus 6Mar 06, 2009 10:50 pm ^^ All I was saying is that if you cable cat6 you can add that later into the existing cabling if you wanted.
The quality of hte cable depends on how its made more then CAT5e/6 AFAIK aswell, eg solid core is stronger but harder to flex around. Re: Delta8 Coming Soon To Aus 7Mar 07, 2009 6:58 am Pugs can't seam to check out any specs of this do you have the pdf downloads you could email me ?? or post some more secs here ?? All I can get is based on the UK Schneider site Out here it will be marketed under the Clipsal Brand Name Schneider owns Clipsal for those that don't know Can't get any specs on the cable used It's definately sheilded but not sure wether it's cat6 or cat5e but I'd guess it's similar to the cable used with the Lexcom System Electrical Wholesaler Re: Delta8 Coming Soon To Aus 8Mar 07, 2009 1:58 pm Plan on getting Cat 6 wired up in our house anyway, will be interesting to see if we can use this system to extend the capabilities of our Cat 6 network once it is all up and running. Re: Delta8 Coming Soon To Aus 9Mar 11, 2009 1:15 pm Ok
I spoke to the Data Rep from Clipsal today It seems they will use a similar cable to the Lexcom System (Cat 7) and the outlets are listed as Cat6 Jacks Nothing is firm yet on the specs to be used out here so untill they can release offical specs it is anyones guess Electrical Wholesaler Re: Delta8 Coming Soon To Aus 10Mar 11, 2009 2:03 pm CAT is a cable spec, not a plug spec... that would be RJ45 for standard networking. Re: Delta8 Coming Soon To Aus 11Mar 11, 2009 7:14 pm Hellman109 CAT is a cable spec, not a plug spec... that would be RJ45 for standard networking. There are different types of keystone jacks for different types of cable. You can't use the same types of plugs or jacks for solid vs stranded cable. There are specific cat 6 jacks that are to be used with cat 6 cable. Re: Delta8 Coming Soon To Aus 12Mar 11, 2009 9:13 pm hmmm Cat7..hmm $2+/m..... and then some.... Anyone know if LexCom would work with HDBaseT (which will soon replace HDMI) ? I believe this is correct. From the picture you can see the power was put in last so the electrician knew where the water was.
