Re: Which one would you buy and why ? 5Feb 09, 2009 8:11 am The Marantz SR-5003 retails for the same price as the Yamaha RX-V863.
That said, I can certainly do one for less that the RRP $1599... Re: Which one would you buy and why ? 6Feb 09, 2009 2:55 pm Hi Rod,
I didn't even know you sold equipment seperately, I thought you just did the installation and setup......My bad. Are you able to PM a price for the Marantz ? In your opinion is the Marantz a better unit ? Re: Which one would you buy and why ? 7Feb 09, 2009 2:59 pm Rod recently provided and installed a Marantz 5003 for me...I cannot speak highly enough of the unit...it's an absolute breeze to operate and paired with the Mordaunt-Short speakers it sounds magnifico. mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: Which one would you buy and why ? 8Feb 09, 2009 3:56 pm to_do_list Rod recently provided and installed a Marantz 5003 for me...I cannot speak highly enough of the unit...it's an absolute breeze to operate and paired with the Mordaunt-Short speakers it sounds magnifico. Were the speakers part of a 5.1 surround sound or just the front speakers ? I am very confused about the speakers Re: Which one would you buy and why ? 9Feb 10, 2009 7:43 am My opinion is that Marantz gear has a definite edge in audio quality over the likes of Yamaha and certainly Pioneer.
Many decent speaker brands have ranges that give you options regarding how many speakers you can get to do certain jobs - floorstanding speakers, bookshelf speakers, centre speakers, dipole surround speakers, and subwoofers, and the Mordaunt-Short Avant 900i is a good example of this: http://www.mordauntshort.com/content.php?COID=23 You can get one pair, two pairs (I have one pair of 916is in the louge room and a pair of 902is in the study), whatever you want. Re: Which one would you buy and why ? 10Feb 10, 2009 7:49 am I have the 863 with the Yamaha EF series speakers.. works very well..
but I did pay alot less than 1200 for it. Re: Which one would you buy and why ? 11Feb 12, 2009 10:12 pm im looking at getting the avant 902i's. have heard them in various
