Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Dec 05, 2008 10:13 am Hi guys...
Any opinions on whether it's worth going wireless for the surround sound speakers? Is there a recommended piece of kit that anyone is using? Or is it better to get our builder to put the cabling in while we still can? The other question is, is it best to get the cables put in for wall mounted speakers, or are floor based 'tower' speakers a better bet? 'Wireless' speakers have to have their own amplifiers in them, so they need a power supply - either you plug each speaker into a power outlet or worse they'd have to run off batteries!!! (yuk!). Also, why have a decent quality amplifier at the centre of your system if you have to use the little 2nd-rate amps built into the 'wireless' speakers???
