Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Nov 16, 2008 8:30 pm Hello everyone
Pre-wiring to our new home was completed last week and I thought I should update everyone about the gr8 work done by Rod (& Matt). I am quite happy with all the wiring and excited about all the new gear that will be installed after we move in. The only sad thing on the day (other than fixing the sound insulation) was Rod falling off the ladder and landing his foot on the half brick where he almost dislocated his ankle. Lucky that he could pull it back in place before the ambos came. I am sure that would have been like hell...I am glad that it was not a serious accident....and it didn't happen at my place...also he has to come back to finish my part-2 GET WELL SOON ROD. Wiring completed for - 7.1 setup in theatre - 2 wall mounts with central control for all the boxes (foxtel, dvd etc) in the theatre room ... a lot of cables run for this ... - 5 x 2 speakers for different rooms (incld alfresco) with volume control knobs and the main control back to the theatre room hub... will buy marantz 7002 which can do a second zone as well. - HDMI cable from study to theatre to stream PC contents - Infrared repeater kits & more I am not able to upload pics to the forum. Check my blog out if you wanted to see some pics. Cheers Sat Our Entertainer - http://ausdreamhome.blogspot.com/ Re: My home theatre story part-1 2Nov 17, 2008 9:22 am Hi Satish, everyone.
Funny thing is, I didn't fall (the ladder tipped) - I jumped. There just happened to be a nice big chunk of a brick (about half) that my right foot landed on and then rolled over with my foot on it - all with my full weight on that foot My fault - I guess I should have looked before I lept, literally. It actuallly completely dislocated it - very nearly broke it. Did some pretty good ligament/tendon damage that means I'm in a cast for little while (sucks - the thing is really annoying the crap out of me...). It didn't stop me from going to the Grand Ridge Brewery tour the next day though Re: My home theatre story part-1 3Nov 17, 2008 9:42 am Yes - I correct myself. Rod didn't fall off the ladder but in the process of averting a fall off he jumped off but landed on a wrong place.
