Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Oct 19, 2008 12:35 pm I would love to have a BIG digi photo frame on our wall, but looking at the prices ($1000 for a 19" one) I am not so sure.
Is it possible to buy a large LCD TV and hang it on the wall, put the memory stick in... (where I dont know, do TV's come with this facility? ) and then it cycle through my pictures? Or is there some other way I can do this without spending too much $$$? Thanks Sandra Re: LCD TV as digi Photo frame... 2Oct 19, 2008 1:28 pm Not sure about the memory stick but we went to a housewarming last weekend and they had a dvd playing with all their house construction photos on it. It just played over and over. Maybe if you got a telly with a built in DVD player it might work ? It happily accepts a USB card reader and displays pictures directly from my camera. Re: LCD TV as digi Photo frame... 4Oct 20, 2008 8:49 am since you are not watching tv or anything like that go to your local computer dealer (mostly like a chinese one) try www.msy.com.au they are a no frills computer store.
get a samsung or a viewsonic monitor 26inch is about $500. I think most will have a memory card option. Then get a cheapo dvd player ($29 at Myers right now) or a picture display gadget ($30) then for $530 bucks you got urself a big screen picture frame. Don't forget u will need to buy brackets..try the shelby site that todd/matt works at pretty good value. ---->Some say that a recession is when your neighbour loses his/her job while a depression is when you lose yours!<----- Re: LCD TV as digi Photo frame... 5Oct 20, 2008 8:52 am TCL sell 36" LCD's for around $550 (we had to buy 42 of them to get that price so maybe a little more for the non bulk buyers) if you put the screws on hard enough and they take usb sticks, memory cards AND usb printers (why, I'll never know).
