We are desperately hunting for cablers as we need to complete this by early next week before the plaster goes up... we are building single story 4 BR+Theatre home...Here is what we want to do with prewiring 1)minimum 2x data cables (Cat 6) in 5 rooms, garage, living , kitchen, hub area + 2 extra in MBR and Theatre = total 22 points 2)same (minus kitchen) for video (RG6) =~ 20 points 3)Telephone pre wiring from telstra pit to building 4)Audio distribution in 2 rooms (no zoning) 5)7.1 Home Theatre system cabling in Theatre room 6)Alarm pre-wiring I got a quote of 1) about 4500 + GST - for wiring only and cable included (wall plates and wall plate fit off not included) 2) 1800 + GST - wiring but cable is supplied by me ( wall plates and wall plate fit off is not included) How good is this quote ? If you have recommendation for licenced cable installer in and around point cook area please let me know. I did some searching in yellow pages and this forum but with no luck I am happy to buy all the cable myself and pay hourly rates to the cabler- if that option is cheaper. Need some advise and direction here .... the total length of cable i need is ~350 meters for RG6 & Cat6 each ( estimated length with 20% buffer). Is rhis very high ? What do you recon is a reasonable estimate of this work ? A) as a package price ( cost of cable included) B) as an hourly rate (i purchase the cables and tell the cabler where to install). Thanks in advance, Subh Re: How good is this cabler quote ? 2Oct 07, 2008 4:40 am Subhashish I got a quote of 1) about 4500 + GST - for wiring only and cable included (wall plates and wall plate fit off not included) 2) 1800 + GST - wiring but cable is supplied by me ( wall plates and wall plate fit off is not included) $2700 difference to cover the cost of cable and wall plates ??? Does not seem to be right ... If you do not want cabler to install wall plates, who is going to do this then ? Termination of cable is very important .. PS: Mods, why did you disabled my profile signature ? You will need to arrange this through Telstra/Visionstream first, before TOW is issued and someone attend your property. Cabler is allowed to prewire from property entry point to the house and inside the house only hey there! π so, itβs kinda common for standard drawer depths to be around 500mm since most cabinets use this size to fit the usual runners… 3 20902 I was being kind to the builder. With the amount charged for the upgrade the builder is probably charging closer to 100% margin. There are a few variables as I… 5 14306 I had 28m2 of engineered pavers laid six months back and it was difficult to find someone not taking the pi$$. Internet suggested it should be $85-100/m2 to lay them.… 3 12381 |
