Hi mate, My room is going to be 5.6 x 4.55 x 2.7m high. I will not be using Green Glue. I am using the whisper clips from the Green Glue company. They work a little differently and basically separate the gyprock from the studs to stop sound transmision. Green Glue is the actual adhesive that is a thick, viscous product that has some adhesive qualities (still needs to have drywall screws) but basically converts the energy created through sound vibration into low heat and then dissipates this heat. This conversion of energy stops the transmission of sound through to other parts of the home. That's about as simple as I can explain it. If you do a search on youtube you will find a stack of info on Green Glue. I think you may be ahead of us on the build. We are still waiting on Council permission. Almost there. Hope to start building within a month or so. I think that you will find so many hidden costs if you want to really go to town on your room. A home theatre is very different than a media room / TV room / Rumpus room. Everything is expensive, from lights, to sound proofing, through to cabling etc etc. The list goes on! Feel free to PM if you need any other info. Cheers Greg 1 16323 they can, it's a fairly standard solution when the slab isn't recessed. the falls need to be in the main floor, if it hasn't been done then you need to ask them to redo… 4 6870 Thank you. Do I use timber floorboards for stairs or do people use timber treads? Or is both the same? 6 7811 |
