Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 16, 2020 12:15 pm Hi, we are looking at building a two storey home on a narrow lot. At this stage we are undecided whether to go with drywall construction (timber framed wall with Gyprock) or double brick wall construction. The builder has advised that there will be no price difference between the two. We were leaning towards framed drywall as the lot has a 6m frontage and we will lose living space with double brick. However it will be between other two storey terrace style homes (zero lot boundary) so will sound be an issue? As this is an investment home which build would be more durable with less maintenance in the long run? Thanks id suggest getting an engineer to give you an opinion rather than a builder. 1 11909 I am saying that double brick has similar thermal performance due to thermal mass effect. It will be still very interesting to see the state of your framing after 10-15… 10 23124 5 7299 |
