Slab pour was last Monday - I've started my application for the Home Builder grant and the only thing missing now is the confirmation that the slab is poured (this will come as a letter from AusBuild and a photo of the slab included.) They mentioned that this will come to me in about a week after the slab was poured as this is to be done by a certifier. Council approval was quite quick. After I completed my selection, it was about two weeks after all documents and final variations were completed and signed. Hope this gives you a good indication of timeframes. slab pouringLike ⋅ 1 comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Follow my build journey here! :-D Re: Building w/ Ausbuild @ Thrive (~550k; during COVID) 72Dec 03, 2020 1:12 pm Hi! Hi njh! I'll post my facade selections this evening. We didn't put much emphasis on brick + mortar choices because we have a fully rendered facade (freedom facade) See below numbers and descriptions for your reference! I think you facade is beautiful - envious ++ and these kitchen colours are great and timeless - that absolute matt black (have seen on display kitchen) is an great look because it is SO matt and fingerprint proof. Shucks - wow thank you so much blueteel! We have made changes to the colours of the facade so hopefully it all works out - I'll post a photo of it when it's done. I agree - the absolute matt black is amazing and to upgrade our kitchen it only costed ~$400 so well worth the investment. Anything you think to be aware of or have in mind as we go through the process? Anything you think to be aware of or have in mind as we go through the process? Hi Coatedmoney. It has been a great journey so far with me. Mel (the home and land sales consultant) was our first point of contact and she's great to deal with. She is very attentive to detail. Every other person after Mel was also a delight to work with - their design team have a great understanding of everyday living in the home so they were able to warn us off our crazy ideas that doesn't translate to good liveability (living with compromises just because we want something to look a particular way). I'm currently liasing now with the building administrations team because I'm at construction stage. While we don't correspond as much as I did with Mel and the design team, their updates are straight to the point and easy to understand - puts me at ease as a first time home buyer. If I were to put down main points of interest - they would be:
