Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Recording your build with a drone 2Aug 07, 2020 7:59 am We are going to do a time-lapse of our upcoming build just using a fixed camera up a 4m pole. A Nikon D set to take a shot every 15 - 30 seconds. All the photos will be stored on the cameras SD card then downloaded every day and stored on an external drive. Choose your camera wisely as some have to be tethered to a laptop all the time. There are lots of tutorials online to do this. I'm unsure how a time-lapse using a drone would go. Normally a fixed camera is used with the same elevation, camera width, focus length and shots taken at a regular interval as in above. This makes the resulting time-lapse video smooth when it is all stitched together. Stewie Re: Recording your build with a drone 3Aug 09, 2020 11:23 pm Cheers mate. My builder has a camera on the power pole as part of their package. Which takes a still every 15mins. I’m more keen to take different angle and also potential fly arounds video at the same height and waypoints then stitch them together at the end. But haven’t seen anything done like this.
