The builder we are using has placed the light switch in one of the bedrooms right near the middle of the room. Upon entry, the door swings left to the wall, and theres a built in robe to the right, there's a small gap between the door frame and robe framing. The light swich is on the left wall, nearing the middle, on the electrical plans we have the placement was to be in between door and robe.
We talked to the site supervisor about it and he says we can't move it, the place it is is the best placement for it due to framing. We have a steel frame. My question is, what can they do to fix the light switch and put it in a place where we dont have to take steps into the room to turn the light on?

Best placement for the switch would be on the opposite wall instead, i.e. you open the door with your left hand and press switch with your right hand when getting in and vice versa, when going out.
In addition, it is a good tone to place a 2 way or 3 way light switch to the left side from your door on the corridor side, which will be turning on corridor ceiling lights or wall night lights (e.g. when your kids or guests want to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night).
Proper positioning of light switches is very basics of every electrical layout and builders/electricians should know/understand that by heart. This is not a rocket science.

Did you not get to have a meeting with the electrician on-site to confirm the placement of switches, lights, etc.? We did (we did not build with coral however). I would keep at it with your supervisor as you should have been informed about this.. especially considering where it is not placed vs where you wanted it (and where it would be most logical). They more than likely don’t want to move it because it’s much harder (but not impossible) to move now that the plaster is up.. but that’s not your problem!!

I have a induction cooktop and my sparky installed the hob switch together with couple of light switches, as a result a 4 gang switch with 3 switches controlling the light…
