Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 21, 2020 12:50 pm Hi all, I am building a new home with Stateman Homes in Ingle Farm SA (North East Adelaide). The block is 11.43m (W) x 32.94m (L). Attached is are pictures of the block dimension and customised plan. Could you please provide feedback. A few suggestions.... - by reducing the depth of the walk in pantry you could then increase the size of the dining room which is currently a bit too small for a dining table and chairs (unless you plan on buying a very narrow table). - could also reduce the length of the WIP to use 600mm for a storage cupboard opening on to the hallway. - the main bathroom does not appear to have a bath, this might be a mistake to not include one, think about resale value in the future. A vanity basin in the bathroom seems unnecessary if one is in the adjacent hallway. - in the laundry, replace the sliding Glass door with a normal external door and window over the sink, much easier to keep clean and you don’t have an unnecessary gap between the glass slider and the laundry sink. - if you can afford it, have the laundry sink built into a benchtop that extends along the wall to the linen cupboard. (We built with Statesman it cost us $480 to add the benchtop and included a cupboard under the sink). - think about extending the nib walls from 600mm to 1000mm each, opening into the Lounge area, having more wall space will give you more flexibility in positioning furniture. Good luck with your build. 😁 Re: Building in Ingle Farm SA with Statesman Homes 3Jul 23, 2020 5:23 pm Bebbsy It is a relatively small house so maximising storage is key, and thinking about furniture size and placement in each room is really important.
