Masterton quoted $20K for rendering but I am thinking to spend that money on landscaping instead. I will render in a few years when I am sick of the all brick look. Do you think this is wise or an unnecessary? I can not decide whether I should go PGH blackheath (love the texture and elegant feel of it but worried it is too dark given frontage is 17metre wide) or PGH lightning (light grey) or biege/ cream bricks (are they out of the trend now?). I appreciate your advice and input. Re: Brick selection and omitting rendering 2Jul 07, 2022 9:11 pm I was tossing up between Blackheath and lightning but ended up going with the latter. It depends on what colour is your favourite. I think Blackheath is easier to maintain given the semi gloss finish and darker colour compared to lightning. Is 20k rendering just the facade? My builder quoted 5k for half your frontage but I decided to keep the brick look. If money is not an issue I'd say go with render. Rendered bricks use red bricks. Hi Housenoob, We need some advice from you please. We opted for lightning brick but we didn’t check the lightning brick facade with rendering on top. If you went with lightning brick, please share your facade details or please let me know which colour suits.
