My builder has cut my front and backfilled the right to make my slab same level as the front footpath. However, my neighbour on my right who is a builder decides that he won't cut his block but instead backfilled it. This makes his land higher than me by 500mm. He has now sent me a quote for a retaining wall for 50-50 division which will cost me 2k for just the retaining wall and fence between us. Should he be completely responsible for the full cost of retaining wall since he is the one who raised his land? Thank you again Simeon.. I will call my certifier for that.
