I am close to settling on a builder and have heard lately "you better get in quick, we are having a price increase soon. Not sure how much but to secure your quote just pay a deposit" I ignored one and strangely enough he came back to me and said that the other base prices went up but not the one I was looking at.... The other builder put his price up without any notice and now he tells me there will be another next week. Effectively 2 price increases in 30 days. Reasons being supply and demand etc etc Should I believe it or ignore it? Has anyone else experienced this lately? The premium builder we used had several price increases from the time we started to the time we signed the contract. Prices have continued to increase but i have also found that the ‘supposed inclusions’ also increased accordingly. For example. Base price rise may be $10K but they increase the “bonus inclusions by a value of $10K” It’s basically a method to secure the business before a price hike, otherwise, the buyers keep shopping around.
