It is half a day job for the plumber on the house like this. You will laugh I'm sure at the response I got from our builder (Bryan & Petersen, Ballarat) when I asked pretty much that same exact question after I turned up one day to a 'dam' on at least one side our house.....something along the lines of....oh, nah we don't install downpipes until late in the build because the brickies might damage them. They don't like them. What a load of crap, but they could at least install those temporary ones like saveh2O has suggested. This 'downpipe' was rushed in the day that pic was taken after we called our builder with water issues outside and inside!
