Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 02, 2008 12:21 pm Hi Guys,
I am just wondering what people experiences with PD have been in terms of site costs for PD's homes. I have been told by PD to expect a $10,000 cost for each 1 metre of slope on my land. I am also wondering what additional costs I could expect to go from M class slab to "H" class slab. The sales person also said the fact that my land is quite wide (20 metres) this may make site costs a little less. Any useful comments about experiences with PD would be appeciately. Re: Porter davis site costs 2Oct 02, 2008 2:00 pm Hi cutajarp,
We are building with PD too. My suggestion is if you have the option of fixing the site cost, then I would highly recommend it. However, site costs varies from one block of land to another. Where are you building? Re: Porter davis site costs 3Oct 02, 2008 8:33 pm hi now much of a typer so
our site costs where 35k with is h class 1.5 odd meters slope retain walls more costs for block bigger than 650 etc.. and slab has peirs too.. and they stared yesterday hoo ray!! we are in rennassine rise 2 Re: Porter davis site costs 5Oct 03, 2008 9:23 pm Ours were higher than I would have thought...about $18.200.00. Less than 1m of fall over block, standard m class slab, no rock, 680sqm. We've got 2 retaining walls which are quite long, one on each side of the block. Still can't figure out why we need a retaining wall on the low(er) side boundary....... far out 6Oct 06, 2008 12:07 pm $35.5 K in site costs- far out - that would totally blow my budget out - I think i better look at other builders - I have a 1.4metre slope over the whole block (not building area). That is way too much.. way too excessive
thank you guys for your response. far out 7Oct 06, 2008 12:08 pm $35.5 K in site costs- far out - that would totally blow my budget out - I think i better look at other builders - I have a 1.4metre slope over the whole block (not building area). That is way too much.. way too excessive

my partner and i just went through the whole process with PD recently and our site costs came to $13,900. Our land was very flat so we are lucky. FYI - the cost of upgrading from M Class to H Class was $8,257. (this is for house we are building - Heywood 28). Have you decided on a builder yet? Re: Porter davis site costs 9Oct 06, 2008 12:59 pm Ouch.. now I'm starting to worry: currently quoted only around 10K (initial quotation), but someone told me I might need retaining walls. This is a 29SQ house, H-class waffle pod, and 1.2m fall.
Is there any independent service we can engage to make sure we're not being overcharged?? Anyone has a picture of what retaining wall looks like? Thanks, IFTE Re: Porter davis site costs 10Oct 06, 2008 1:00 pm Ouch.. now I'm starting to worry: currently quoted only around 10K (initial quotation), but someone told me I might need retaining walls. its all the other things that the builder puts on top origail our was 23k then to add peirs retainers bigger than std block etc they all added up! thats life thou! where are you building? Re: Porter davis site costs 13Oct 06, 2008 10:26 pm Im not building with PD but i did get a quote off them. My land wont title until mid next year. But because they had built display homes and other houses in that estate, they were willing to cap the site cost for me. I thought that was really nice of them. So if you know that they are building house in your estate, get them to cap the site. Tell them that they have done it for other people, i'm pretty sure you can persuade them!! Good luck Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 12335 I am not sure whether Perth has its own way of doing things in regards to this. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 13091 Is anyone building with Mojo and have a recent site cost tender 0 15951 |
