Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 08, 2020 4:30 am Hi there, I’m in the midst of building my first home, and after the build (ongoing construction), my partner and I realised that our house needs extra space!!! We’ve decided probably best is to enclose the alfresco to extend our indoor space (privately instead of with our builders) .. just wondering what are the options of enclosing the space and how much would it cost to do it? We have a sliding door with grills connecting the alfresco to the dining area, would it be advisable to leave just forgo the grill/ sliding door when we’re in the midst of building? Would it affect our contract with our builders ? Suggestions would be much appreciated Re: Enclosing an alfresco 2Jul 08, 2020 6:19 am You can add it as a variation to the current build at considerable cost or add it after handover, both will require a new DA and BA from the council Need Ideas to convert Alfresco into bedroom Cheers Chris Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs You can really use anything you want the main consideration would be how it looks once painted/finished - or the look you want.
