We have recently signed the prelim contract and will have our studio M / Joinery / Electrical appointments completed by the end of July. What I am after is a rough estimate of: - How long after these appointments will it take for our building contract to be ready? - Once we sign building contract, approx how long until building permits will be approved? (note we are building a single story house and are told building permits / council approvals shouldn't be a problem) - Once building permits are approved, how long will it be until construction starts? Whenever we ask Metricon they are never that clear on timing (as expected) and everything has taken longer than first thought so far. We are in no real rush, however, the reason I am asking is because I want to make sure we time the demolition of the current house on the block appropriately to be done before construction starts but not before building permits are approved.
