Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Retainingwall per CDC approval but builder says not requ 4Jun 28, 2020 9:00 am rogklee Is there a specific pricing for the retaining wall? Call me cynical, but this is how post Preparation of Plans (PPA) variations basically work. The builder will price it up with his markup, up to + 50% The greater the difficulty in doing it after handover ..the higher the markup.. a double whammy. This logic often astounds me because quite often you will be left in a worse position after handover with limited choices to do the work than if it was done properly concurrently with the build. eg, limited site access, alternate solutions, navigating built obstacles, multiple trades charging full days rates, etc, etc Then the trades doing it after handover charge extra, so it becomes a triple whammy. OT, Generally the better the information you put up, ie photos, data ( m,m2,m3,etc) and plans, the better the reply, also it helps others Cheers Chris Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs 1) I had requested R6 ceiling insualtion batts, however I noticed that on some areas there are huge gaps which will allow hot air to sweep in, and also noticed black/grey… 0 918 Hi Minho I have heaps of experience in Ku-ring-gai with both DAs and CDC ( this is the main area we build in).
