It's actually Dulux concrete effect paint. Needs 3 coatings and finally burnished using a trowel. But once done the sense of achievement is a great feeling. How's your home styling coming along? Re: Thomas Archer Hive 46 (customised) Build 2020-21 207Jul 09, 2021 9:24 am Your house looks amazing, thanks so much for sharing your progress. We are looking to build with TA too, still at the initial quotation stage and the Hive is our preferred floorplan. The current plan they have online looks a tad different to yours, I think they've updated it recently but I like how you have a dining area. Do you have some photos of the living rooms/kitchen and courtyard you could share? May I ask how much you ended spending on the upgrades, on top of base price? There are few photos of kitchen/family during build but not after we have moved in. Still setting up our home so will upload once the rooms feel complete. We modified the hive from their original design and hence they don't look similar. Costs wise we spent 40% more from the base price. Obviously the base prices have gone up since we signed with them. Re: Thomas Archer Hive 46 (customised) Build 2020-21 209Jul 10, 2021 5:00 pm After 8 months in transit, today was the day our custom pharaoh crystal void light went up. Light is from Lucretia. Putting up scaffolding and getting the light up was one Herculean task but our electrician was up to the task. This is the final result. Re: Thomas Archer Hive 46 (customised) Build 2020-21 212Jul 20, 2021 3:28 pm Art and furnishings make such a massive difference don't they? Turns a space into an actual room. Spent some bucks for indoor plants today which were not cheap. Sigh! never ending expenses. We still have to get our fireplace cladded and other rooms decorated apart from landscaping and pool yet to wrap up. Slow going on our front. Re: Thomas Archer Hive 46 (customised) Build 2020-21 214Feb 01, 2022 8:28 pm BigDaddy Ok, update on the stacker issue. There was an issue I suppose but I was not there to see it. It was highlighted and TA have acted on this and have shown to me by asking me to come on site to check for myself. I was happy that what we were expecting is pretty similar to what TA is delivering. Once plaster is done it should look flush. Photos for reference. What the cost for floor to ceiling stacker doors signifiant? We have a few of them! sounds like the hughesdale! good observation, but not quite! I feel hughesdale is more like 5m! We just have 90cm above the raised 2.7. So are the doors 2.7, then the pop up to 2.6? What brand doors did they use? Where are you building? Do these face North? Re: Thomas Archer Hive 46 (customised) Build 2020-21 220Feb 04, 2022 11:56 am AlexAndRachel nice! So are the doors 2.7, then the pop up to 2.6? What brand doors did they use? Where are you building? Do these face North? We have windows under the higher set of windows (not doors) and high ceiling is 3.6m. The alfresco doors are 2.7 and wrap around to the dining room which has 2.7m ceiling. Our dining room windows (not pictured) look over our pool and are 2.7m floor to ceiling. Other than the wall the TV will go on our living/dining is pretty much a glass house. Every wall is a window. Our doors are stegbar, double glazed. And the range up from the standard (aluminar I think). The raised ceiling gives such a sense of space and light. We love it. Our rear faces North. I'm all for natural light and sunshine. 0 8481 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 59207 Nothing yet, have been distracted this year with work related projects and a new kid but hoping to start building one way or another early next year.
