Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 18, 2020 9:15 pm Hi folks, I'm in the process of designing a custom built 2/storey home and considering ICF construction method. Interested in the zego product and was wondering if anyone has built with the product and can provide some detailed info on the product and experience. Thank you Re: Zego feedback 2Jun 18, 2020 9:42 pm I have done research and considered Zego for my custom house, however, ended up with Durisol-Nexcem ICF instead and never looked back since. One of the main reasons I have decided not to proceed with EPS as Zego failed to provide MSDS clearly specifying which products are used as the fire retardants and I was suspecting they are still using HBCD based ones. EPS containing HBCD are highly cancerogenic and for this reason were banned in Europe and US several years ago. Europe's leading manufacturers such as 3M are now manufacturing EPS without bromines, however, not everyone is using 3M EPS. May be Zego are already using new types of EPS, may be not. The other reason I rejected EPS was moderate vapour permeability of EPS material and, hence, need to install full blown ventilation system (e.g. ERV) in order to maintain air quality and humidity in a tightly built house. I also didn't like the "soft" feeling of acrylic render on top of EPS and I thought it will be very easy to damage it, but this probably just me. As title suggests, looking at using the interlocking Pentablock stacked stone products to replace failing timber retaining… 0 17866 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes.
