Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 08, 2020 10:52 pm Hi there. We are 6ish weeks away from completing our first build. A driveway was included in our inclusions list, but we received an email from our builder today stating they would be charging us $80 a square meter for the crossover (about 5m by 10m). This is the very first we have heard about the crossover and in the contract signed with our solicitor, no driveway was actually proposed on any plans. I only found the size of the crossover that our project manager sent the developer for approval. Is this typical? Inclusions state driveway, but crossover is not included, even though there was not a crossover included in the plans sent to our solicitor? Is this another variation we need to suck up and pay (we were whacked with a $9000 bill early on for the soil that was soft, even though the soil report warned them it would be and no compensation was made for this in the contract!)
