Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 21, 2020 12:07 pm Hello all, By way of introduction, I'm a first time investors looking to build a dual income property in the South West suburbs (Oran Park/Austral/Leppington). This post is officially my first step to making this dream a reality. I was recommended this forum by a mate of mine. Thanks for taking the time to read my post! There's not much to it - my goal is to build a dual income investment property. Can someone please guide me as to where I should start? Do I start looking at feasibility? I.e. how much would it cost and would it be worth it? My biggest fear/unknown is that I don't know anything about council requirements/DA/approvals etc. Where shall I begin for that? Any support/advice/tips etc are warmly welcomed! Thanks all, RSO Re: *Deep Breath* Building a Dual Occupancy in South West 3May 22, 2020 12:13 am Hi, We are building a dual occupancy in Gledswood Hills. We are going with King Homes and are just finalizing our tender at the moment. Most properties can go through a council certifier (CDC) instead of DA, cheaper an quicker this way. Builders know all of the requirements needed. Check out King Homes website as I know they are doing house and land packages for granny flats around this area. Good to see you're also building in the area. I'm building for investment purposes. Are you building for investment or to owner occupy? Thanks for your thoughts on CDC vs DA. I will look into this. I will look into King Homes aswell. Thanks for the recommendation. How much approx is it costing you for the build? I presume about $500-$700k depending on finishes? Thanks a lot!!
