Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 06, 2020 4:21 pm Hi, Hoping someone can give me some guidance with choosing a building inspector for a new build. Have spoken to one guy who seems to do quite a few inspection stages and is 5k but looking to get a second quote and it is turning out to be hard to compare as they seem to offer a different number of inspections. What stages are generally recommended for a 2 storey build (double brick ground floor and timber frame upstairs)? And can anyone recommend someone who is great in Perth? Thanks! Re: Choosing an independent building inspector, Perth 2Apr 08, 2020 3:45 pm I used Lewis from Cap-It-All Inspections and he was great - very thorough and quick to produce his written reports. Cost about $2,3k for 5 stages of a double storey build, would happily use him again! Re: Choosing an independent building inspector, Perth 3Apr 11, 2020 5:36 pm I used PCM concepts. Craig is very knowledgeable and his reports are very detailed. If you are shopping around, ask to see a copy of their sample report. Ours is a single storey build though but to give you an idea all 5 stages checked and it was roughly under $2000. We're at the lock up stage. I would send it to the certifier who is technically your representative and working on your behalf not the builder's 1 1469 That is a really good attitude Akin to you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. I do enjoy watching that tik tok inspector from Victoria but he does go a little… 12 72255 It is true that a builder can ignore your independent inspection report as it is not part of the contractual arrangement but that is stupid because he cannot avoid fixing… 9 39880 |
