The internet is full of people saying how much a house should or could cost, but very few will actually provide sufficient details to be any real benefit to newcomers. If you would like to assist simply cut and past the below info, and fill in the gaps. This allows people to see what people really got for their money, allow for inflation and if people participate will be very beneficial. If you have any suggestions for more relevant info let me know and I can update.

Sad to see no responses on this thread yet, would be nice to start getting a feel for what builders are charging. Is adding a "bar" to my theatre room going to cost $3,000 or $13,000 etc.
So many questions that could be answered by others. Variables permitting.

If you aren't comfortable, or consider this info (or some of it) too private to post on a public forum, then don't post it. From experience many are happy to provide that info to assist others, but obviously no one should include their name and address.
Any other threads regarding house prices are quite literally "how long is a piece of string". A price and a number of bedrooms (which people have posted elsewhere) is no indication of market rates or benefit to others, nor is a build you did 10 years ago, unless the date is indicated.
If there is a similar thread please link to it, but I could not find anything similar in the (much longer than 15 seconds) I spent searching prior to deciding that this thread might be worth creating if people are happy to assist others.
First timers, Note that there are resources in existence such as Rawlinsons Construction Handbook which can provide people with current costs, however raw individual owners info isn't, which is a great knowledge base for a first timer to compare to what others have achieved.
Thanks, on behalf of many others, to those who choose to help. I will post here myself to assist, once everything is finalised with us.
