Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 07, 2019 8:06 pm We started the process in April 2018. Had our appointment with Neel at the Oran Park display home. Very knowledgable man and was able to answer most of our questions right away. We chose the Astoria with the modern facade. We didn't like the flat roof so we had a custom sloped roof with the modern boxed facade. We started the CDC process and had to locate our own demolisher. So, process started in April 2018. House was demolished in August 2018 and Better Built started shortly thereafter. The team at Better Built worked through some wet conditions and we were really pleased with the progress. Our site Supervisor was Peter and he was supported by Emma then Renee. Attached are some photos of the frames ones the block was clear and slab was laid. The last photo here was when our exterior was pretty much complete which was around January 2019. So, the process was quite smooth and quick. We had one slight issue on the facade. The gray cladding was the wrong size so this had to be joined and we could clearly see the joint. We said to our site supervisor that this was unacceptable so this was promptly replaced with the right cladding. Gyprocking, painting, stairs etc were installed. Fast forward to end of April 2019 and we've now had our kitchen installed. Had to wait 3 weeks for our stone for the benchtops. We've been told this will arrive and be installed by Friday. The interior of the house seems to have progressed slower than the exterior. House is locked up so we don't get access to the property for photos unless we ask our site supervisor for an inspection. Will update the post in due course. Here are some internal photos. Having some issues to resolve with council before they allow us to lay our driveway and footpath which will be the last item to tick off prior to completion. Here are some further photos. Re: Better Built Homes Knock Down Rebuild 8Sep 09, 2019 12:32 pm Hi, Our council is Burwood Council. We had a few issues dealing with BBH and Council for our driveway which eventually got sorted but mostly through me liaising with our Council directly. Good luck! Re: Better Built Homes Knock Down Rebuild 10Jul 28, 2020 10:27 pm ppetrovski are you looking to custom build or one of their already made floor plans? Re: Better Built Homes Knock Down Rebuild 11Jul 29, 2020 9:49 am I was quite close between a few builders. I think after reading everything even the issues. I have been going to the display homes quite a bit. I am leaning towards Better built. The house built next door has a good design, however there seems to be so many issues with that other builder. Re: Better Built Homes Knock Down Rebuild 12Jul 29, 2020 6:03 pm mustard @ppetrovski are you looking to custom build or one of their already made floor plans? I was looking at a few options like Tiffany Rose or Astoria, did you do a custom build? How much extra is this compared to choosing a pre-existing plan?
