Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 28, 2020 7:37 pm Hi All! It’s my first time building and would love to get some guide on what you paid in upgrades? Ie. taller ceilings, extended benches, wooden stairs, upgraded taps ect I just want to be prepared will ball park figures on what these are likely to cost Thanks! Re: New Build Extras Cost 5Feb 29, 2020 9:09 am We paid $13000 all up in extras but it was $5000 just for electric for us (lots of data points). To make both showers hobless it was $1000 To upgrade our carpets and underlay from the included which was like office carpet it was $3147 Selecting a colour of stone not from their standard range was $732 Raising the height of the splash back in the kitchen from one row of tiling to full height $300 These were just some of the bigger changes cost wise but lots of small things added up as well such as changing the doors in the secondary three bedrooms robes to mirrored sliders was $54 each so $162, Black cabinetry handles were $12 each adding up to $264 Changing the shower heads to rail showers so they could be adjustable for the kids etc $456 so $152 for each shower head. Wider Front Entry Door with Translucent glazing $479 It's very easy for the costs to start climbing as you choose things that aren't standard but as stated above costs will change depending on your builder and the inclusions in the package you chose.
