Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 21, 2021 7:37 pm I live in Vic but just bought a block in WA (Dawesville) and trying to decide on which builder to choose. Since I’m not local i just don’t know but I’ve been speaking to both Homebuyers Centre and New Generation Homes - anyone have any thoughts between them or better suggestions? Thanks! Re: Which builder to choose in Mandurah 2Jun 22, 2021 7:56 am Hey Welcome Scott in WA Select 3 builders designs and compare , Size, Area, m2 of brickwalls (20 bricks/m2), Class A footings ( no nasty surprises) and the façade constructions are straight forward... solid you can set up a matrix in the spreadsheet or if you are math savvy there are other tools from comparing ... great time to be investing in WA BTW I wouldn't recommend building light weight construction in a coastal or BAL area, check the codes under Durability and fire Cheers Chris Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Re: Which builder to choose in Mandurah 3Jun 22, 2021 8:54 am In addition to Chris's input take on board that New Gen are part of the Summit Group and Homebuyers are part of the ABN (Dale Alcock) Group. That will give you a wider range of reviews to look at. Big issue with any build in WA at the moment is shortage of trades and materials Hi Mofflepop, I would recommend finding a building designer to prepare plans, they should design to your specified budget. The benefit is you can tender the project out… 9 21291 brokers will also be in a position to get you a better rate than the advertised rate most times. 6 7865 |
