Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 12, 2020 12:46 am We're thinking of buying an old home, knocking down and building our own. We are happy taking a standard design from a major builder. We have found some floor plans and designs we like, so don't need to customise too much. When using a cookie cutter standard design from a major builder: How much do prices vary according to the area? We're looking at building in a suburban area not far from the city, where most of the homes were built in the 1950's. We are focusing on flat blocks. Re: Using Major Builder in different locations 2Feb 12, 2020 12:49 am A second and related question: We have only been looking online, not yet commencing the daunting process of getting the builders out to a site for a consultation. Our specs would be: - Knockdown old house - Build a mid-level quality, medium sized single storey home with a major builder Roughly what will our total cost be? Just looking for a ballpark figure before we start talking with different builders. thanks. bit hard for me to understand as i am first time building, do u have any images to refer to understand this logic. thanks 3 3535 yep you need a joint, foam is easiest, will look fine once rendered with a joint. 2 4348 Hi, have purchased a house with 2 single garage doors.
