Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 10, 2020 6:46 pm Hi guys, long time lurker, first time poster. We are nearing the end of our design process with HGWA in Perth. This is our modified Munich, curious if anyone spots anything we have missed or any other changes/modifications. The doors to games/activity are going to fold back on themselves, and with the rear access through garage we cant line up doors due to developer covenants, any garage over standard needs a set back, and a set back on the right just looked funny. It's very tight at the moment, so I would recommend that you take at least 200mm from other rooms and add them to your entry and porch instead. Re: Building wth HGWA in Two rocks WA 3Feb 10, 2020 7:48 pm I agree with Amilelka, the entrance area will seem very tight. You don't need a huge entrance but visitors always seem to congregate in the entry when they arrive and leave. If it's really tight it gets awkward and can detract from the overall feel of a home. Bedroom 4 is in an award spot with regards using a bathroom, they'd almost have to use the ensuite or walk right through the house to use the bathroom. Is this going to be a bedroom/nursery or a study? The reason I ask is I'd be looking to steal some space from there to give it to the entry. You could even pinch 100mm from the master as well if you had to. I'd also put shelving on both walls of the walk in linen. It's a big space with a tiny amount of shelving. Will add to the list. Edit: plans have been chopped up again and rooms flipped and house being stretched and squeezed to better suit. Will see how this plan pans out 2 1188 Hi, We're building a double-storey in Perth and I'm undecided with the kitchen sink situation.
