Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 04, 2020 1:11 pm Hi guys, I’m looking to build the Liberty 40 with the provincial facade. I’m booked in to sign my prelim contract on the 17th so I’m madly trying to work out any last minute changes. I’ve been thinking about costing and I’m wondering if any of you have done any of your own installations. I’m interested in putting in my own feature lighting (kitchen, dining, living and master) bathroom vanities and mirrors. My mother-in-law is an interior designer and can get me wholesale prices. Any thoughts? Is it worth it? And is it possible with M? Thank you! Re: Metricon Build: Advice on DIY 2Feb 16, 2020 8:40 am Hello Miss M congratulation. Liberty 40 with provincial is amazing. I am looking for the same. I was wondering if you share the final cost with upgrades and ur land size please and if you included any balcony and afresco About your query I am pretty sure building should be able to give you credit as my mate did that with other building for credit and he sources all his bathroom items by himself but some builders doesn’t like it Re: Metricon Build: Advice on DIY 3Mar 23, 2020 9:16 pm chokyulate Hello Miss M congratulation. I haven’t been to Studio M yet but we are on a budget of about 650-670,000. My land size is 1 acre (4000 sq m). And I upgraded the windows on both sides of the house, plus added three French doors downstairs. I also added: Third garage Mudroom Changed laundry and pantry so the pantry is bigger Removed bath in master en-suite and added double shower . I might start a new thread on this build now that I’ve signed the contract. Assuming the structure of your cabinetry is good then I would DIY everything as follows: - replace your counter tops entirely, - replace all drawer runners with soft close… 1 4782 Re my second point – yes exactly.
