If you go with your builder then it will be covered until your house warranty. If you go after handover, it won't.
Also, that sounds like a good price.

Easy, Id do after hand over. Cheaper as builders will add 10% - 20% margin onto the cost. If it was double I would do through the builder as harder to do after handover
