Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 04, 2020 7:59 am Hi all, I'm about to sign a contract for a house and land package. My floorplan - and I confirmed with the builder this is correct - has the house against the fence on one side and the garage against the fence on the other. Is this normal? The house is a bit narrower further back so you can exit the laundry and walk down the side of the house, and there is a lane (as opposed to another house) behind, so I guess I could access the backyard via a gate around the back without having to take garden things through the house (e.g. lawn mower, haha). Just... anyone else with such a narrow frontage able to weigh in? Is this normal? The house next door might pretty much be on the fence as well. At least the fence won't fall over in time? I appreciate your thoughts and input. Re: 8.5m frontage - house meets both side fences.
