Browse Forums Building A New House Re: drain pipe mistake 4Feb 01, 2020 12:24 pm Where is it located, and is it actually a drainage pipe? I had a pipe in a similar location (i.e. just offest from the frame) and wondered what it was for - then I realised it was just piping through the slab to run services to the island bench. The framing guys will have to fix it later. If you check your plans you should be able to work out what its for. If its for a sink it will be reduced anyway so again not as bad as if its the upstairs stack pipe. Sadly it is common but it means someone screwed up, either at the drawing stage, the people doing the slab or the framing guys, but the site supervisor will just work with what he's got and try to fix it. I'm assuming the frame is in the correct spot. You don't want them digging out the slab to move the pipe, so it's better to make the frame work around the plumbing problem. Get your own inspector to confirm that the fix is acceptable. Re: drain pipe mistake 6Feb 01, 2020 4:25 pm luxbuild The plumber will likely put in an angled piece and cut out some of the frame. Thanks 2 6205 Unless there were unforeseeable issues with the site, I dont think you should have to pay for contractors errors or poor planning. I'd probably try and be reasonable and… 5 1857 |
