Hey,
We are building a 2 story home through Eden Brae Homes.
We received increase ceiling heights to 2590mm as part of our package for down stairs.
All downstairs doors are 2340h
Our WIP has a 2340h door opens into the WIP otherwise it would block of the gap between WIP & island.
This door has been set to 2340h and opening into WIP since tender.
Right before final plans (just before construction) they said that is not possible, but we found evidence of another person with the same property and WIP opening inwards. We sent the details and they then came back and said everything was fine to keep it the way it was. We then signed our final plans and construction is now underway, we actually have the frame installed for both floors.
Then today we get a variation request stating the below.

What are my rights? What alternatives do we have if they say if it isn't possible?
Opening outwards is off the table.
Having a smaller door right near two entrances which are much higher will look very out of place.
Not sure if a sliding door could be arranged at this time since the frame is already up.
Do i have any rights for compensation, because to us this is a big deal and makes the kitchen non-functional
Would love some advice
Thanks
Chris
