We are a lot earlier in the process than all of you. (Awaiting master siting and floor plans). The information you have put into your posts has been really informative and helpful to my wife and I. We are looking to build a variation of the Hive with a variation of the C4 façade as well (similar to bigdaddy). One of the questions we had (among the million no doubt) is how did you all go about the cabinetry design. Did you stick with the S1,2,4,5 etc variations or did you go with a custom option? Would be keen to know what the extra costs for the custom option was if any of you went that way. We have some pretty specific ideas about how we want our kitchen to look and function and the standard ones are hard to imagine in the actual space we have for our kitchen/butlers pantry. Would love to know how this part of the process worked for you. Thanks Happy to answer your million questions no problem. I too was particular about the kitchen and butlers (Im a chef). Might be easier to chat on PM or I'll bore everyone senseless! https://thomasarcherbuild.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html - Thomas Archer Homes - Custom Nouveau 41 Re: Thomas Archer Bayside Build 184Oct 05, 2020 7:41 pm shokel1975 Blacktea2sugars Happy October Everyone. I can’t believe you are at PCI already.... how exciting!! Hello lovely! PCI been scheduled for Friday! Just double checking that's ok with the inspector, otherwise it will be Monday. That's the S3 facade, right? Still my favourite. The garage is incredible. I'm hoping that we can get a similar aesthetic with our garage - which we extended to 7m x 6m. Exciting (and very reassuring) to see your progress - especially as anxiety builds for us as we approach contract! Hey wellbuild Yes that's the S3 in all her glory. She looks amazing in real life. Cannot wait for the garden to really maker her "pop". We are going to use the same render colour and same tiles on our fence and around our letterbox - stay tuned! Oh yay to another big garage. Assume yours will also be shadowclad? The scale of it looks great from the street, if I do say so myself! Ah contract, I remember that. don't be anxious, it's only money! I'm sure it will be outstanding and cannot wait to see it take shape! My most positive thoughts to you guys for your contract signing - very exciting times indeed! https://thomasarcherbuild.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html - Thomas Archer Homes - Custom Nouveau 41 Re: Thomas Archer Bayside Build 186Oct 06, 2020 5:10 am Blacktea2sugars PCI been scheduled for Friday! Our bank really dragged their feet last week getting an inspector there to walk through, but we got the payment receipt yesterday so might pick up keys today. Organised the insurance last night... Would love to know how this part of the process worked for you. Thanks Hi Lovely. We chose one of the options and then customised from there. Aimee or the architect will be able to draw up your joinery plans for you. Frank (owner) is an ex-carpenter so he loves getting involved in this part as well. Unless the panels are outside of the length (e.g. if you need one 2.7m and the standard panels are only 2.5m) the costs shouldn't be exorbitant to go for a custom plan. We also had custom bar joinery done - again it was as simple as Aimee drawing this up and the costs didn't come back very high for this. I hope this helps - it looks like BlackMilk2Sugars can go into more detail for you xx Re: Thomas Archer Bayside Build 189Oct 08, 2020 12:54 pm Blacktea2sugars shokel1975 Blacktea2sugars Happy October Everyone. Ohhhhhh Congratulation , you almost there ! Re: Thomas Archer Bayside Build 190Oct 11, 2020 2:08 pm Hi all TA build folks! Seems like most on this forum went with corner stacker doors when building with TA. Who went with a recessed option and who went with the standard? Any idea on the cost of recessing? Re: Thomas Archer Bayside Build 191Oct 11, 2020 3:21 pm I went with recessed into slab. $1400 ish I think. I have about 6m of doors. Go recessed. Have also gone for recessed, was just over $1400. Definitely worth the money! Re: Thomas Archer Bayside Build 198Oct 15, 2020 6:37 pm Business end of the build Received Final invoice with all BV's credited on Monday. Darbecca went through yesterday. Forwarded report to SS. Most are cosmetic, pain missing here, over paint there. Really pleased with what I read. One thing I will point out to TA buildees, check your style selections CAREFULLY! From the report, looked like only the outside of our front door was painted Dulux Domino. Yep - sure enough, on the Style doc it states entry door (external) DD. Look for things like this, as a two tone front door IMO looks silly. This was a shock to say the least. Hubby and I are wandering through tomorrow. It's been aaaages since I've managed to sneak in, so very much looking forward to it.
