Did you need to do anything extra to support it? we are going to do a mixture of blinds, sheers and shutters. Not looking forward to getting quotes 🤑 Re: Thomas Archer Bayside Build 245Oct 28, 2020 9:40 pm Leeota I've been looking into the motorised blinds. are yours hardwired or with a battery? Top floor of void is hard-wired (cable put in by sparky prior to plaster) as no way to charge it! Bottom 3 are all rechargeable motors (12-18 months life apparently). All 4 blinds are on same remote 👌. All are metal backed Euroscreens (visibility but no glare and huge reduction in thermal heat transfer.) We've got linen sheers going over the rollers in the 3 front rooms. Also same in Master (Linen sheers) but over a block out lining to the balcony sliding door. Plantation shutters everywhere else (bathroom and highlight windows). Insane costs yes but looks amazing. We're also going to tint the west windows. I didn’t put an electric outlet at the top of the void. Not sure now if it can be done post handover. Re: Thomas Archer Bayside Build 250Oct 30, 2020 7:22 am Leeota Have you put flyscreens on your windows? We’ve been quoted a ridiculous amount for them and wondering if it’s worth doing over handover x Yep. Fly screens on every window. Not sure what your $ was. Ours was high too but figured they are an absolute must. https://thomasarcherbuild.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html - Thomas Archer Homes - Custom Nouveau 41 Re: Thomas Archer Bayside Build 252Oct 30, 2020 8:46 am Leeota Not sure what the going rate is but we’ve been quoted around 4k 😳 How many windows do you have? Any retractable sliding door screens in that price??? https://thomasarcherbuild.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html - Thomas Archer Homes - Custom Nouveau 41 Re: Thomas Archer Bayside Build 253Oct 30, 2020 10:47 am Blacktea2sugars Leeota Not sure what the going rate is but we’ve been quoted around 4k 😳 How many windows do you have? I do wonder why quotes varies from build to build. I know measurements will be different but not so much that one is talking about thousands of dollars. Maybe there could be differences between adding flyscreens on the inside of aluminium awning windows, vs. on the outside of wooden frame sliders? The flyscreens we have are very light and just attached to the inside of the windows with spring clips. Plumbed, backfilled and cemented in week following. Aquablade has gone in to feature wall. All retaining walls have been waterproofed and lined. Basketball court marked out, hoop anchor plate cemented in last Friday 14/02. Building permit issued, site start set for Feb 19th (blue dunny arrival and temp fence arriving.) Only job left for us to do in the meantime is to remove the section of fence that the garage is being built up to boundary on. Yay. Your pool looks fantastic! Which pool company did you use? Would you recommend them so far? Looking forward to hearing your building updates. Re: Thomas Archer Bayside Build 259Nov 10, 2020 9:01 am Leeota Crazy isn’t it! The quote is for fibreglass flyscreens too, nothing fancy. Standard number of windows, we didn’t add any extra in! Yep. For something as innocuous as flyscrrens- they certainly are expensive!
