Hours and hours of it, but hey, there's a lot to take in. So of the "issues" relating to Darbecca report, all are agreed upon. 98% are paint here and there. Very happy with the house and finish of everything. So, as promised...cue #PhotoSpam.... Isn't she pretty? Congrats!! House looks great!! What colour is your carpet? Is it blue or grey? Re: Thomas Archer Bayside Build 208Oct 16, 2020 6:31 pm congrats looks incredible. so lovely to see it all come to life. it looks like we have similar finishes in the bathroom (although i think our tile is a little plainer) so relieved to see it all looks very elegant when tied in together. it looks like you have more shelving and drawers in your WIR than ours which makes me nervous. worst case we can always change it around in a few years though i guess! you've done an incredible job and now have a beautiful house to show for it. can't wait to see more magic unfold with the finishing touches! now the real fun begins! x Re: Thomas Archer Bayside Build 209Oct 16, 2020 6:44 pm BigDaddy Looks great! Congrats on the build. Wondering how come inside of garage door was not painted? Doesn't really need to be. Its a custom made garage door built same way as Firestations. I don't mind it. It it annoys my husband enough he'll rectify it! https://thomasarcherbuild.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html - Thomas Archer Homes - Custom Nouveau 41 Re: Thomas Archer Bayside Build 210Oct 16, 2020 6:46 pm shokel1975 Blacktea2sugars Hi guys PCI was today. Its exciting as we all can do Christmas in new home....will post you as we progress. Re: Thomas Archer Bayside Build 219Oct 17, 2020 2:58 pm Leeota Wellbuild Hi all TA build folks! Seems like most on this forum went with corner stacker doors when building with TA. Who went with a recessed option and who went with the standard? Any idea on the cost of recessing? Have also gone for recessed, was just over $1400. Definitely worth the money! We're also going through tender stage with TA at the moment and had requested our corner stacker to be recessed, however in the tender it has a note "Note: Bottom track of sliding door track to finish 5mm +/- 3mm from finished floor level" which shocked me a bit as I thought the whole point of recessing it would be to have no step over or trip hazard. Did anyone else who recessed their stacker have the note that the track would finish 5mm above FFL? If so, has anyone completed their build with that, and is the 5mm noticeable or annoying? We have now requested a "fully flush" sill/frame which should be perfectly flush with the FFL of our living area. I'm guessing the "flush sill" might actually be a different type of door/frame whereas the "recessed" is the same door/frame as normal. The cost of the "flush sill" is about 3 times the "recessed" option, but I think in the long run it will be a small price to pay... I agree, this should have been discussed or made aware in the earlier process during your PSQ. We are considering recess and corner stackers too for our living/dining area. Did anyone opt for aluminum pole over plaster board instead of a corner stacker? This should be cheaper than getting a corner stacker. Also i can suggest to have the doors widen further in the living wall to draw a dramatic effect when the doors are fully opened. We spent close to 2 years in a process with TA. It was horrible..... we got to tender, and the first cut was 50% over our budget which "they care such about meeting ". We… 18 27136 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17196 thank you! do we need to get this or our builder before we commence new build on the block? 2 10260 |
