Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 22, 2020 10:36 am Hello, Im looking to start building within the next few months and as far as designs go, my partner and i really like designs from both bellriver and champion homes. Bellriver is more expensive, however they have much better inclusions. I was just wondering if anyone has gone through either of these builders, and how your experience was with them. Thanks Re: Bellriver vs Champion Homes 2Jan 22, 2020 12:14 pm Hey, I am currently going through the process with Bellriver, We haven't started construction yet so I can only comment on the process up until colour consultation. They have been generally pretty good overall. There have been a few instances where attention to detail would have created a better experience but people make mistakes and it has always worked out in the end. I will list a few of the issues we have had. * The house plan we selected an were told would fit on our block actually wouldn't fit. (Bellriver worked with us to find a solution and modified the plan at no cost to get it to work with our block) * Due to above it required us to require another tender session (Just an annoyance but what can you do) * Some incorrect details in the contract (fixed on the spot) They have been quite good so far at responding to us and I would even say this has gotten better after signing the contract. We have just had our colour consultation and if you would like any information about that feel free to send me a message. If you dont mind me asking, how have you found the inclusions, and what did you upgrade that wasn't a standard upgrade option? Re: Bellriver vs Champion Homes 4Jan 22, 2020 3:11 pm So we went with the Benchmark Inclusions as we weighed up the options vs the $15,000 to spend on upgrades that they were offering at the time and from all the upgrades we wanted we would have gone through that and much more. It also helped that our sales person also added the 6 Luxury options in for free as part of the deal. ~$23,000 We have also made some upgrades to window sizes and such this was ~$3500 As for additional upgrades in the colour selections we spent ~$8000, this could have been much higher but we had to stay under our budget. These figures are for only a 20sq home though. Also, there were more things if you wanted a breakdown for specific items send me a message and I will let you know. 0 2020 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74702 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
