New build and intro - Coral Winton 26 @ Griffin Pocket

Hi all

Just thought I'd drop out of the shadows and say hi. Partner and I have a block in Griffin we are getting a Winton 26 built on...eventually. Plans are with local council since early December so hoping we get approvals back by end of month. Then the real work can start.

Depressing to see the illegal dumping, vandalism and theft that occurred in the area over the Christmas break but with builders and agents back in the area hopefully some semblance of order can return. Can't believe some grubs stole 14 metal fence panels from the estate boundary fence!

Tile, electrical and colour appointments commence next Wednesday, Saturday and following Tuesday. Have spent hours in the design centre (wish there was one closer than varsity Lakes...) and in Beaumonts. Pretty much nailed most of what we want.

Be the first time building in over 20 years but we decided we wanted a house with our own choices and problems, not someone elses

Pictures and updates as they come in.

So...all selection appointments completed. Almost over the 'extras' shock. Dan Murphy helped with that!!
Been advised council final approval should be through by end of week fingers crossed.
Then the whole rigmarole of getting signed documents to the bank, covenant blessing and a firm start date on the block. Can't wait to start seeing some actual activity...
Enjoy your build. We moved into our new Coral home 18 months ago at Newport. Great experience and love the house.
Getting closer...

Council has approved the plans and these have been passed onto the bank to issue the approval to commence construction letter to the builder.

Your colour scheme is so similar to ours, how pretty! Love it.

Hooray block cut complete. Work has started.
Site super doesn't see any issues caused by Covid19 at this stage.
Drainage and trenching to come before slab down mid next week.
How long has it taken from being approved to having the slab down?
Woot - slab went down yesterday. Already got the bill from builder lol...
So plan was council approved first week of February. Final plans issued early March and approved.
Started site work end of March and slab yesterday.
