Brighton homes build Qld enquiry
We are about to sign a contract with Brighton Homes in Qld who are a company under McDonald's Homes in NSW. Just wondering if anyone has advice from the same builders or other builders on contract times and clauses.
Hubby is currently stressed as we were told between 18-24 weeks for a build but upon receiving the contract is has 229 days with essentially unlimited or uncapped delay days.
Exact wording:
If for any cause beyond our reasonable control we are delayed in building the house, then the building permitld will be extended by the number of days that we have been delayed. Examples of these causes are:
A) Rain and other bad weather which makes it unsafe or impractical to work
B) delays by suppliers or other people not under our control
C) materials being unavailable
D) industrial disputes
E) legal proceedings
F) owners work such as retaining walls etc
We have spoken with our PM who has assured us they never take that long but hubby is very hesitant to take someone on their word essentially. I just don't want to start the whole process again especially if all contacts are essentially going to be the same!
Thanks in advance š
Did you end up going with Brighton? And if so how have you found them?
We are considering building with them in North Brisbane.
Thanks,
Andrea
