Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 19, 2020 9:59 pm Hi, We are nearing our PCI For our split-level house. Our perimeter has been backfilled but I just noticed that the footings on the lower level are buried and no longer visible. I just want to know if this is a defect that I can ask the builder to rectify? What is the AU standard for backfilling around the slabs? How do we measure enough backfill? I have a feeling that the backfill was made to make it very close to the level of my neighbour’s Zero-lot garage. But in effect my footings are buried and so are part of my bricks. Thank you in advance! Yes. I’m just wondering if I can go back to the builder to fix this quoting Au standards or best practice. Not recommended! The image presented is for a sublevel area. The footings are down deep with a load bearing wall supporting the upper floor level. If you did that drain… 8 10571 Grab a hose, insert it at the top of the inlet/down pipe and turn the water on and see where the water is escaping from. Then you'll know. 3 8454 The concreter will take and reuse. In my case I bought structural LVLs and scraped them back and used them as joists. 1 5150 |
