Hi annaHome, Both do the same job. Timber is far more expensive at the moment, so if I were building my own house right now I would definitely be using steel. If you have the budget, double brick is now almost on par with Brick veneer when using a timber frame. I really like a floor plan for a volume builder and they use steel frame and Hebel. I have never heard of Hebel but apparently Scandinavia use it since 70 years ago.
