Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 07, 2019 9:12 am Hi, Been in our new house for 1 year now and have noticed water damage on architrave where the kitchen sink is. The wood is MDF and I think the water has soaked through the tile grout in behind the architrave. Now the wood is bloated and paint is chipping away. I contacted the builder and they said they can tile the architrave but I reckon that would look weird as the tiles would come out more than splashback. And wouldn't the water just absorb through the grout anyway and further damage the architrave behind the tiling? Is there anything else that can be done to fix this? Should I have the whole window frame replaced?
