Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 01, 2019 7:18 pm Dear all, I am new to this forum and building my first home. This is regarding heating/cooling at my new build. I am currently thinking to opt out gas heating and do the refrigerative cooling post the handover. It would be great if you could clarify my question. I heard from one of my colleague that heating of any sort (like gas ducted heating) is mandatory for building approval or occupancy approval in Victoria. Is that true? Can I opt out heating/cooling from my builder and then do it later post the handover? Thanks and regards, ssyi Re: Building approval - ducted heating /cooling post handove 2Dec 02, 2019 10:48 am G'day. I'm pretty new to this also. Have a look here - https://forsyth35.com/2018/04/02/blowing-hot-and-cold/ Welcome to the forum. That is a great blog and very professionally done. Super impressed by it. "In most PD display homes they have provisioned for Evap cooling, you can see the 2nd larger ducts in the ceiling. However, in some display homes, they also have a sne@ky refrigerated cooling unit sitting out by the garage and piped into the sales office and through the rest of the home. A few time we have stood under evap cooling outlets and there is no way its evap cooling coming out of it – we have even tested this by closing all the doors and windows to do the pressure test." Great pick up! My mind is still trying to form a firm opinion on that one. So many thoughts! 3in1 Supadiverta. Rainwater Harvesting Best Practice using syphonic drainage. DA's are taking 12-18months and CDC's we have been doing… 1 3162 It seems very clear to me that your contract states that a security account does NOT need to be established so the answer to the builder is NO. If in doubt find a contract… 1 8505 |
