Yes Solar does help (our ~13kw system does wonders for our power bill...actually we get paid!). But whacking a big solar system on your roof shouldn't be a way to cover up things like poor construction methods and poor choices in heating/cooling design. What happens in the near future when we are all trying to use our solar power to do things like charge home and car batteries? If we make our homes as efficient as possible and design our mechnical heating/cooling systems well then the solar systems can be adequately sized to cover all our power needs now and into the future.... --------------------------------------------------------------------- Check our Homeone build blog here Re: Evaporative Cooling / Gas heating vs Refrigerated coolin 27Nov 10, 2020 2:59 pm Shi Got $7K credit from builder for gas+ evap and spent another $7K to have the ducted reverse cycle refrigerated cooling with possibility of online scheduling and automated control. Would you mind sending me your spec and how you managed to get online scheduling and automated system at $14k price? Which builder? 4 10822 I want to build a decking to the drawn shape outlined in black. The problem is how close can I build to the gas hot water unit? Will I be able to build around it and be… 0 20231 you need a fridgie to answer but I would think you vac the whole system then add gas if you have a leak, unless it is new install with the gas already loaded, in that case… 1 3660 |
