Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 26, 2020 10:55 pm I am building with carlisle in Victoria in a stage 4 area and have only just started construction. Upon advising carlisle about my choice to have an independent inspector I was told that it is not possible due to restrictions and they can only inspect the final stage. Im curious as to if anyone else has encountered this situation or if they have been able to have inspections done in a stage 4 aarea. The company i want to use for the inspections have said they have done other inspections prior to the final stage. Who can I contact for more information or what rights do I have as involving an independent inspector? Re: Independent inspector and covid restrictions 2Sep 08, 2020 10:56 pm Not the case, had my final inspection last thursday with another volume builder. Had 2 supervisors, my partner and myself. Plus our independant inspector came an hour later. Current rules, max 5 people on site all practicibg safe distancing, and we were. They can shove their 'company policy' where the sun dont shine. Contract rights are all that matter and lawful directions. I would send it to the certifier who is technically your representative and working on your behalf not the builder's 1 2265 That is a really good attitude Akin to you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. I do enjoy watching that tik tok inspector from Victoria but he does go a little… 12 81884 It is true that a builder can ignore your independent inspection report as it is not part of the contractual arrangement but that is stupid because he cannot avoid fixing… 9 46854 |
