That's two and a half inches, in the grand scheme of the whole house! I would prefer having the raised window next to the bath, but that's because I have young kids, and they'll sure flood the window sill. Also, if you're not having the window frosted, then you're kind of on display to the outside world with the window sill that low. Cedar is lovely and natural, but it will fade over time, and does need a bit of maintenance over the years. Composite, I am assuming means wood- plastic composite, which could be anything from wood fibre saw dust to bamboo to peanut shells and rice husks mixed with a plastic such as polyethylene or PVC. The exact mix will effect the longevity of the composite, but if it is a decent composite, it should last at least as long as the cedar with no maintenance at all. Whether you prefer the natural weathered look of real wood, or the maintenance free always new look of composite is a personal choice. Thanks a lot Ben888, it has been a great summary of advise for my entire list of concerns.
