Distance between House and Pool

Hello everyone. I was hoping to get some feedback on my proposed pool and house position. I have a sewer line at the back of the block, thus limiting how far back I can set the pool. I have the option to move the house to the higher side by another 500MM (left looking on the elevation picture) but am worried that because of the 300MM or so cut the builder is doing on that side, moving the house closer to the boundary would mean I need to build a small retaining wall.

The drop in levels from one side to the other side of the entire block width is about 600MM. The builder will be doing a small cut and a fill.

My main question is, do you think the 1749MM distance between the proposed pool fence and the alfresco stairs is sufficient for comfortable access? Is it too close to the house? Or should I bite the bullet and move the house closer to the boundary (build a retaining wall) and give me an extra 500MM.

Also, is the size of the proposed coping around the pool adequate?

i prefer the closer the better...i’d dream to have to pool as close to the house, preferably as same building line as possible (of course if budget permits, as i know bringing pool closer to the build-line meeds extra pieriing /something like that

I like pools close to the house too. My issue here though is there will be a passage between the pool and the house, and I want to know whether the space will be sufficient for comfortable movement in the area.

I think the space will be fine.

Anything over 1100 will be fine. You'll likely also need to encase the sewer unless its less then 1m deep as your pool will be sitting in the zone of influence. Have you thought about building the pool right of the alfresco, say 400mm away and have your fence in the alfresco between the pillars?

The sewer is 1.6m deep. My pool builder is telling me that if the pool is deeper than the sewer (which is the case) then it can be at 1m distance, they just need to add more dense wire in the concrete wall. We had the initial peg out inspection done and may need additional ones at the next stages (I’m being told).

Moving the pool on the other side is not an option as it is very shady there with a couple of large trees and a tall hedge.

I was concerned when reading your post, but the diagrams are clear, leave it as it is.
You have enough room, as the Alfresco and pool are diagonally opposite, not on top of each other.

By law (I think, but a pool contractor could confirm) I think you need 1 metre from pool to fence.
Copers come in all shapes and sizes so you could do it in 1 coping stone, or a coper and a paver.

Nice size pool, and you still get a lot of yard!

Go 1.2m from the fence as pavers are usually 400mm. The 1.7m gap to the alfresco is plenty.You're going to be within the zone of influence with your sewer so expect extra costs to have it encased. Extra piering may be required around the alfresco. Best to check with your builder there.

Go a triple garage you got the space !

If the pool is 2 metres away from the house slab, does the house slab need a slab protection or not required?

in my case it will be over 3M from the closes point of the house. I am told we don't need any additional protection.
